Fire Alarm Technician Apply
Location: Central Texas (primarily Waco, Texas, and surrounding areas)
Overview:
We have an ongoing need for qualified technicians to perform installations of fire alarm systems (a/v devices, smoke detectors, c/o detectors, relays and monitor modules) security cameras, and other low-voltage technologies. Technicians should have experience and be knowledgeable in terminating at fire panels, power supplies, amps for voice evac, and troubleshooting systems.
Essential Duties:
- Installation of products and services related to security systems, fire alarms, access control systems, CCTV systems and audio/video systems including overhead paging, intercoms, etc.
- Installation of structured cabling systems according to bid specifications/customer expectations/Scope of Work requirements during installation.
- Installations in compliance with national, state, and local codes, and the industry’s best practices and as directed.
- Carry out installation assignments timely and within the project specifications at the direction of the team leads.
- Identify all “out of scope” work on projects and escalate to the team lead before working on it.
- Provide status reports and updates as required by leadership.
- Professionally interact with G/C’s, other trades’ personnel, and/or clients.
Additional Characteristics:

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- A current State of Texas Security Alarm Installer License
- A current State of Texas Fire Alarm Installer License
- 1 year + of structured cable installation includes all aspects of wiring.
- Able to perform physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs., squatting, bending, climbing, and working on a ladder or in dark or tight/small places for up to 8 hours a day.
- Knowledge of and extensive experience with a wide variety of power tools and specific trade hand tools
- Basic exposure to and understanding of the National Electric Code NFPA-70 article 800 and related information.
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards and industry best practices
- Experience in reading and following instructions given from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, specs and SOW documents.
- Work schedule flexibility and ability to travel overnight as needed.
- Have a current and valid Texas driver’s license with no driving offensives preventing commercial insurance acceptance.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
- Must own your own tools.

Electrical Foreman Apply
Location: Central Texas (primarily Waco, Texas, and surrounding areas)
OVERVIEW:
Function as a Foreman for Nemmer Electric.; monitoring installations and ensuring work is performed according to Nemmer Electric standards and project specifications. Work cooperatively with the general contractor and/or customer in managing the project, project schedule and employees. Responsible for maintaining productivity, safety, quality control, labor cost, scheduling, movement of manpower, procurement of materials and any other activities impacting the successful completion of the project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve Nemmer Electric productivity objectives by effectively managing and assigning tasks to crew members, while maintaining an accurate labor tracking log.
- Establish project goals and monitor success in reaching those objectives on an ongoing basis.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure ordered materials are received while adhering to bulk buy material procedures.
- Adhere to project contract document changes and Nemmer Electric policies and procedures.
- Fully utilize a prefabrication facility and company-wide installation methods and policies.
- Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform required work.
- Provide Superintendent(s) with enough notice of any crew changes.
- Utilize a proactive approach to anticipate and resolve potential issues.
- Ensure crew members start and finish work shift on time; Maintain proper meal/break times as per Employee Handbook and as legally required per local labor laws and regulations.
- Conduct effective performance evaluations of crew members.
- Maintain complete and accurate “as-builts” as per Nemmer Electric. procedures and project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including project owners, architects, general contractors, management, crew members, etc.
- Ensure all work performed meets with NEC, federal, state, county, local codes and
- contract documents.
- Adhere to all Nemmer Electric’s, state, and federal safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures included in the Nemmer Electric Employee Handbook.
- Be familiar with software programs including, but not limited to Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Procore, and Bluebeam.
- Utilize new technology to perform daily tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of two years of field experience working as a Journeyman Electrician.
- Must hold a current Journeyman license with the State of Texas.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively order and track materials, perform cost projections and develop “as builts”.
- Strong, first-hand knowledge and experience related to scheduling, material lead times, product knowledge and installation durations.
- Solid understanding of the electrical codes and installation methods.
- Well-versed in the installation of power systems: lighting, fire protection, security and data networks.
- Knowledgeable regarding the build, installation and maintenance of control panels
- Comfortable utilizing Electrical Single Line blueprints.
- Experience in verifying the compliance and functionality of installations
- Knowledgeable in the identification and repair of faults in electrical apparatus and circuits.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Physical Demands: The employee will require the ability to do the following:
- Lift 50 lbs. from ground and pull 50 lbs. of force.
- Perform ladder climbing, wire pulling and conduit pulling.
- Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 25 lb. tool belt.
- Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires.
- Work off ladders, man lifts or reach booms.

Low Voltage Technician Apply

Job Purpose: Install fiber optic, network, and telecommunications cables. Install security cameras and other low-voltage technologies while maintaining compliance with all the policies and procedures of Nemmer Electric, Inc. / NEI Datacom. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Installation of products and services related to voice and data structured cabling systems.
- Installation of products and services related to security systems, fiber optic cabling, fire alarms, access control systems, CCTV systems, and audio/video systems including overhead paging, intercoms, etc.
- Installation of structured cabling systems according to bid specifications, customer expectations, and scope of work requirements during installation.
- Perform installations in compliance with national, state, and local codes, and the industry’s best practices and as otherwise directed.
- Carryout installation assignments timely and within the project specifications at the direction of the team lead, supervisor, and/or manager.

Service Electrician Apply
Location: Central Texas (primarily Waco, Texas, and surrounding areas)
Job Purpose
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans, electric scissor lifts, pallet jacks, forklifts, and small equipment such as small engine pumps and generators. Disassemble and overhaul motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, electrical systems, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers and mini excavators.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, maintain, and test commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems in full support of Nemmer Electric Inc., / NEI Datacom safety operations and productivity initiatives.
- Operate various types of equipment and use industry related hand and power tools.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc., and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.
- Feed, pull, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gears, receptacles, switches, etc.
- Troubleshoot equipment electrical systems and control circuits.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, sketches and schematic diagrams showing the location of wiring and electrical systems.
- Communicate effectively with customers and crew members.
- Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all Nemmer Electric Inc. productivity objectives are met.
