Nemmer Electric has proudly served Waco and Central Texas since 1974, earning a reputation for integrity, quality workmanship, and a commitment to our community. Founded by Joe Nemmer, Jr., Nemmer Electric started as a small, family-run business built on hard work and trust. Over the decades, we’ve grown into a leading electrical and datacom provider with more than 75 dedicated employees—many of whom have been with us for decades.

Now led by President and CEO Melissa Nemmer, the second generation of family leadership continues to honor the company’s core values: treating clients and employees like family, delivering on promises, and always striving for excellence.

As President and CEO of Nemmer Electric, Melissa Nemmer leads one of Central Texas’s most trusted electrical and datacom providers, continuing the legacy started by her father, Joe Nemmer, Jr., in 1974. A lifelong Waco resident, Melissa grew up around the family business and developed a deep understanding of the industry and the values that have made Nemmer Electric a respected name for more than 50 years. She has been with Nemmer Electric for 29 years, bringing hands-on experience and leadership to every aspect of the company’s operations.

Under Melissa’s leadership, Nemmer Electric has expanded its commercial and datacom services while maintaining the company’s strong reputation for quality, safety, and customer service. She is passionate about fostering a workplace culture where employees are treated like family—a philosophy that has contributed to the company’s long-tenured team and loyal client base.

Tevin Goff Sr. is an experienced Project Manager and Estimator at Nemmer Electric with more than 14 years of expertise in infrastructure cabling, fiber optics and security systems. Throughout his career, Tevin has successfully managed and executed numerous complex construction projects, overseeing all phases from initial planning through completion. He holds certifications in Panduit and CommScope along with a Texas Fire Alarm License, which further strengthen his technical proficiency. His expertise includes the integration of advanced security systems such as camera installations and access control solutions.

Alex McCommas

Alex McCommas has been with Nemmer Electric for more than 14 years. He earned his certification in Electrical Power and Control from TSTC in 2010. Alex currently holds the company’s fire alarm, fire extinguisher and security licenses as well as a NICET Level II certification in fire alarm systems. He began his career as an electrician for two years before transitioning to low voltage work in 2013, where he led numerous fire alarm and security projects and provided service work. In 2016, Alex was promoted to Project Estimator and now serves as Director of Fire and Security.

Christopher Brannock

Chris Brannock has 20 years of experience in electrical construction and joined Nemmer Electric in 2023. He oversees construction operations for multiple large-scale projects across Texas. His portfolio includes high-profile work for Baylor University, McLennan County, CPS Energy, the City of San Antonio and Frost Bank, where he ensures quality, safety and efficiency throughout all phases of construction.

Joyce Perez

Joyce Perez has dedicated her entire career to the accounting field. She earned an associate degree in accounting from McLennan Community College and has built a distinguished career over the years. Joyce worked at KD Manufacturing for four years followed by a decade at Jacobs-Cathey Air Conditioning. She has been a valued member of Nemmer Electric for 35 years, where she plays a vital role in managing financial operations and supporting the company’s daily business activities. Known for her exceptional work ethic and dedication, Joyce says, “What can I say, I love to work.” She takes pride in contributing to the success of the team and is known for her reliability, attention to detail and longstanding commitment to the company.

Kirk Dungan

With more than 24 years of experience in the telecommunications and structured cabling industry, Kirk Dungan specializes in the implementation and management of structured cabling systems and network infrastructure. As a BICSI-certified Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Kirk brings extensive knowledge of industry standards, emerging technologies and best practices to every project. His career spans hands-on fieldwork, estimations and project leadership, delivering scalable solutions for enterprise networks, data centers, healthcare facilities and commercial buildings. Kirk collaborates with general contractors, project engineers and end users to provide technical expertise paired with practical insight, ensuring efficient, reliable and future-ready systems. He enjoys mentoring younger professionals and staying up to date with the latest trends and standards, viewing every project as an opportunity to improve and innovate.

James Macik

James Macik began his career at Nemmer Electric in 1987 after graduating from TSTC. He advanced from apprentice to master electrician, focusing on commercial projects. After marrying in 1995, James expanded his experience in industrial and instrumentation work across chemical, gas and timber plants in Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. He completed several process control projects that have been implemented internationally. James holds training in Electrical Test Instruments and Troubleshooting, Programmable Logic Control and an OSHA 30 Certificate. With more than 35 years of industry experience, James returned to Nemmer Electric in 2014 and currently serves as Field Operations Manager.

James Hyde

James Hyde began his electrical career at Nemmer Electric in 2002, starting in the field with no prior experience and working his way up from apprentice to estimator to master electrician. He was mentored by several outstanding electricians and, as an estimator, had the opportunity to learn directly from company founder Joe Nemmer. James was promoted to estimator in 2007 and has since managed a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial and healthcare projects. His project portfolio includes high-profile work such as the Magnolia Headquarters, Balcones Distillery and multiple Baylor University projects, including the Fudge Football Operations Center, BRIC Research Facility and Tidwell Bible Building. He has also overseen major projects like the Clifton ISD Performing Arts Center, the City of Waco Convention Center and Oceans Behavioral Health Center.

James holds a Master Electrician license and is a LEED Green Associate. He is proud to have spent his entire electrical career at Nemmer Electric and values the relationships he has built with both local and statewide contractors. James is especially proud that his sons are now following in his footsteps as they begin their own electrical careers at Nemmer Electric.
